Martin Barghoorn

Martin Barghoorn is active in the fields of restructuring, refinancing, insolvency, and M&A since 2014.

He began his career in Business Recovery Services at PwC, where he focused on large-scale refinancing projects, the development of going-concern strategies and operational restructuring concepts, as well as pre-insolvency advisory. He then joined Roland Berger’s Restructuring & Corporate Finance practice group, where he developed and implemented restructuring concepts for companies in the automotive and consumer goods industries.

Most recently, Martin spent over five years at the strategy consultancy The Boston Consulting Group as a Principal. There, he led large-scale cross-industry projects in restructuring, transformation, and M&A – with a particular focus on development and implementation of transformation concepts, business planning, liquidity planning, “Plan B” scenarios, and structured insolvency proceedings. During his time at BCG, Martin was a member of the “Restructuring Taskforce” and the BCG “Corporate Finance & Strategy” practice group.

Since 2025, Martin Barghoorn is Partner at Turnaround Management Partners. He holds an MBA in Accounting & Finance from the University of Hamburg, where he completed his studies with a master’s thesis in insolvency law.
